Cahir O'Doherty (musician)

Cahir O'Doherty (born 1977) is a musician and songwriter from Derry, Northern Ireland. He is the vocalist and guitarist in the alternative rock band Fighting with Wire. O'Doherty is also a member of the Derry/London band Jetplane Landing, in which he plays lead guitar. As of 2006 Cahir has also taken on bass duties for indie band Seafood (usually when on tour). Recently played the acoustic guitar when performing with Frank Turner and Reading and Leeds festivals (2013).
==Youth Work==
O'Doherty actively encourages the development of young talent and on numerous occasions he has not only offered his advice to bands, he has personally helped them. Recently, O'Doherty has worked with the centre of culture and arts in Derry, the Nerve Centre and he helped to mentor over 30 young people in the inaugural ''Music Hothouse'', which was launched by the Nerve Centre to aid the development of young, raw talent. O'Doherty also hosted many events in the Instinct Festival which is an annual youth festival, celebrating the arts.
